“It is the best of times, it is the worst of times, it is the age of wisdom, it is the age of foolishness, it is the epoch of belief, it is the epoch of incredulity.” This Dickensian gem of a quote has held its meaning in the current times. While we have never had a better access to information, the quality of the said information is growing increasingly questionable. We are regularly fed on a toxic diet of “Breaking News” with flashy graphics at the Prime Time with a vulgar disregard for the authenticity and integrity. We, in our small way, intend to change that. We intend to write about things that matter, things that continue to affect and trouble us. We want to write about things that tell us that not all is wrong. We want to talk about how we are not truly doomed, at least not yet, a reassurance that we all need quite frankly when the inevitable existential crisis hits. We need to say no to the propaganda, the polarised opinions and the blatant patronising notion that the youth is not capable of reading anything that isn’t a list about something ever-so-insignificant .It is time to bring value to the power of written word. We intend to ride the wave when the change comes about. The Fourth Pillar of Democracy needs to stand up again.
